Pamela MacKellar is a printmaker and book artist living and working in Corrales, New Mexico. She grew up in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics from the State University of New York at New Paltz. After graduation she participated in many national juried and invitational art shows and exhibited her one-of-a-kind hand-built ceramics in galleries across the US.
After earning a Master of Library Science degree at the State University of New York at Albany Pam worked as a librarian, consultant, author, website builder, trainer, and graphic artist for some years while continuing her art practice. During this time, she had a family, and she and her husband built a custom adobe home where they currently live.
As a lifelong learner and a practicing artist, Pam continued her art studies in book arts and printmaking at the University of New Mexico, Santa Fe Community College, and Central New Mexico Community College. She took advantage of additional workshops and other opportunities to study with nationally known book artists and printmakers. During this time, Pam has exhibited her artist books and prints at shows and galleries throughout the US.
Pam teaches book arts in person and online at the University of New Mexico Department of Continuing Education, the Santa Fe Book Arts Group, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, the Minnesota Center for Book Arts and privately. She has presented programs about her work to local book arts groups.
